Chapter 4 – The Beginning of Revenge
A sharp sound echoed in the air—the sound of a slap. The entire room fell silent as Pranavi’s hand remained frozen in the air, her chest rising and falling with anger.
Vedant Rathore didn’t move. He just stood there, his head slightly turned to the side where her hand had landed. A slow, eerie silence settled around them. His jaw tightened, his fingers curled into fists, but his face? His face remained calm, too calm.
Then, he did something unexpected—he smirked. A dark, knowing smirk that sent chills down Pranavi’s spine. His hazel eyes flickered with something dangerous, something unreadable.
“You just made a mistake, Pranavi.” His voice was low, steady—too steady.
Pranavi refused to back down. “No. You made the mistake.” Her voice was firm, but inside, her heart pounded.
Vedant tilted his head, his smirk widening. "I always get what I want. And right now, I want one thing—your apology.”
She let out a bitter laugh. “Keep dreaming, Mr. Rathore.”
His eyes darkened. “Oh, I don’t dream. I make things happen.”
He took a slow step forward, closing the already small distance between them. His presence was suffocating, but Pranavi refused to let him see any weakness.
“I’m not afraid of you,” she stated.
Vedant leaned in, his voice barely above a whisper. “You don’t have to be. But you will see me everywhere, Pranavi. In your choices, in your freedom… I’ll be there. This is just the beginning.”
A shiver ran down her spine, but she kept her expression blank. “I won’t be a part of your twisted games, Vedant.”
He chuckled, low and deep. “Let’s see about that.”
With that, he buttoned his blazer and walked away, not sparing her another glance. But Pranavi knew—this wasn’t over. The real game had just begun.
